As a hard-to-please beauty journalist, I take my yearly compilation of the best beauty gifts very seriously. After all, having tested hundreds of makeup, skincare, perfume and haircare launches first-hand, I've learnt the actual value of most products; so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about what separates a worthy beauty gift set from an underwhelming one.
