Take it from someone who has spent at least one lunch break every week for the past – let’s say, six years – in the Mango dressing rooms. The Spanish high-street label is better than ever right now.
Last year, Mango celebrated the worldwide launch of its most eagerly-awaited collaboration to date (Mango X Victoria Beckham, ICYMI), which coincided with Mango's own 40th anniversary celebrations and took inspiration from the film La Piscine (1969) starring Jane Birkin. Then, Katie Holmes was spotted wearing a Mango Selection tan suede jacket when out in New York, which caused it to sell out in a matter of moments.
The Spanish fashion brand followed-up with a Zendaya-charged tenniscore collection – bursting with Wimbledon-appropriate tennis skirts, tote bags and baseball caps – before Emily Ratajkowski wore a Mango Selection summer dress out in New York and sent the fashion set into a frenzy.
Speaking of the Selection collection, Mango's most-recent win is the launch of the latest iteration of its most premium line, which has been designed in collaboration with stylist and creative consultant Malina Josep Gilchrist for a fresh approach on the quality pieces. The new line comprises of contemporary, bold and sophisticated pieces that explore the contrasts between masculine and feminine wear. Structured tailoring and transitional jackets feel androgynous and fluid, while dark denim – as well as satin and sheer tops – bring a feminine edge.
It seemed timely, then, to make a beeline for the brand's flagship Regent Street and try on the crème de la crème – just so you don't have to. As we edge into Spring, I had my heart set on a boxy new blazer, a rugby shirt a la Gigi Hadid and Taylor Swift (the cool girls' answer to transitional dressing), and a few new workwear essentials.

1. The SELECTION Leather Jacket
I couldn't start my edit with anything but the hero of this haul: Mango's Selection oversized patchwork coat.
We all want to look like our most polished selves as we re-enter the world post-winter hibernation, right? I can't gift you a lifetime's supply of The Row, but I can point you in the direction of Mango's aforementioned Selection collection – which is built of premium pieces which look (and feel) endlessly more expensive than they actually are.
I love the exaggerated collar on this piece, as well as the double zip – which worked in injecting a silhouette to the piece when it's worn done-up. It's perfect for layering over jumpers right now, and slinging over contrastingly feminine summer dresses of a spring evening. Such a cool and timeless buy.
2. The Slip Dress
Also from Mango's Selection edit, this elegant black slip dress – which I have zero cause to wear anytime soon but adored all the same.
I don't always feel the most confident in a slip dress, but this one – thanks to its heavier-than-expected fabric – had a beautiful drape. It has elegant spaghetti straps which sit atop a flattering mesh lining, and the back is cut into a deep-V. Though it'd definitely work with heels, it was slightly too short in length for me (taller girls, be warned).
3. The Suede Jacket
Suede jackets have been burgeoning in popularity since the autumn, when Jennifer Lawrence wore a beige suede jacket in Las Vegas – and Olivia Rodrigo donned a mustard number while watching the Manchester United vs Chelsea game at Old Trafford with boyfriend Louis Partridge. It's hardly a new trend: suede jackets have been big since the 70s, resurfacing every autumn and layered atop knitwear, slogan t-shirts and floaty dresses.
This sub-£150 jacket was one of the first things I spotted when I entered Mango's Regent Street shop – styled here with a head-to-toe chocolate get-up. Of which, there are countless pieces in-store right now.
4. The Rugby Shirt & Indigo Jeans
Rugby shirts aren't really a new trend, as such – who remembers Rihanna and Hailey Bieber donning that Loewe rugby shirt circa March 2023? – they're experiencing something of a renaissance right now. Splashed across the high street and on the Fashion Week street style scene, their appeal lies in their versatility, over-sized fit and comfortable silhouette. And the eclectic colour combs they're sometimes cut in. Here, Mango has gone classic with a crisp navy and white.
5. The Striped Poplin Shirt
I'm in desperate need of some new workwear essentials right now – and when a colleague wore a khaki and white striped shirt to an event last week, I knew I wanted in. Striped shirts have been around for decades, of course – Chanel bought them to the height of fashion in the '30s – but styled with a simple tuck and loosened button, they remain a timeless classic.
The khaki feels like a contemporary update on classic powder blue, but Mango has a plethora of other styles in stock right now which are equally as wearable.
6. The Structured Cardigan
7. The Suede Shopper
A quick shoutout to this suede shopper, which is spacious enough to carry my entire life to the office and then some. While it's dropping in and out of stock faster than I can fathom, there are plenty of Mango suede shoppers on site for those who aren't fast enough. Case in point…
8. The SELECTION Suit
Last but not least: the most epic, well-cut suit that has ever graced my limbs. Another Selection piece (or two-piece, as the case may be) – cut in a silky, wearable grey fabric. I hate for a suit to be fitted, favouring a slouchy; oversized silhouette only. Both the blazer and trousers suitably fit the bill, each piece feeling sophisticated yet comfy and wearable. You can really see creative consutlant Malina Joseph Gilchrist's penchant for playing with the contrast between boxy and fluid.
